TERMS OF USE THE CEREBRUM PLATFORM


Welcome to the Digital Platform of CEREBRUM!

  • CEREBRUM operates exclusively on behalf of the Institute of Research & Training on European Affairs - I.R.T.E.A. (hereinafter I.R.T.E.A.), which maintains the exclusive use of the system, as well as the copyright on its operation, the material available and the philosophy of the content posted on the System.
  • The Terms of Use of the Digital System are analysed below. We urge you to read them carefully before registering and navigating in the platform.
  • The user declares unreservedly that the information they quote is true and accurate, and in case of change of any data, they are obliged to notify I.R.T.E.A. of said alteration.
  • By registering and activating the use of this registration, the user agrees and unreservedly accepts to comply with these terms and conditions and is bound by them, as well as any changes - modifications.
  • By registering, the user gives I.R.T.E.A. the right to maintain their personal data, with the commitment of I.R.T.E.A. not to disclose user information to third parties. At the same time, the user explicitly & unreservedly accepts that they grant I.R.T.E.A. the right to send any information about his account in the CEREBRUM Digital System to their email used during registration.
  • The user acknowledges and accepts that the communication achieved between them and I.R.T.E.A. through the electronic forms and documents available from it, in terms of its information and consent, poses in all its consequences, communication by press document.
  • In case the user disagrees with any term and / or with all of them, they must not use any of the services of the CEREBRUM Digital System, as provided at www.cerebrum.gr. Any use of these services or some of them implies the unconditional acceptance and compliance of these Terms of Use, while each time they enter the CEREBRUM Digital System, they reaffirm their agreement with I.R.T.E.A. under these Terms of Use.
  • The users of the CEREBRUM Digital System responsibly declare that they are over 18 years old at the date of their registration in the CEREBRUM Digital System.
  • Minor users can have access to the services of the CEREBRUM Digital System strictly and only with the consent of their parents or guardians. The legal guardians of minors or their parents may approve, but under the constant supervision of an adult and with their assuming all responsibilities arising as a result of the use of the service by a minor, the use of the CEREBRUM Digital System.
  • The registered users, acknowledge that they are solely responsible for any incorrect use of the services offered to them based on the registration email and password. The username & password they hold to use the CEREBRUM Digital System is unique. Therefore, they also take the responsibility to use them exclusively with the responsibility of not disclosing them to third parties.
  • I.R.T.E.A. is not responsible for any use of its services under the CEREBRUM Digital System, which results from the loss of the aforementioned unique user codes. In case of damage or any damage that may result from the incorrect operation of the services, due to loss or misuse of the codes, I.R.T.E.A. is entitled to terminate the service of the user in question automatically and without a court order without any compensation to him.
  • From the moment the complete their registration in the Digital System CEREBRUM, the user is solely responsible for any action taken through their personal account and the use of their personal password and must show the necessary diligence to preserve the aforementioned data. I.R.T.E.A. encourages the users of CEREBRUM to take necessary means of security and safety in order to avoid illegal or non-authorized use of the service and of the secret password to it by third parties. The users of the CEREBRUM Digital System also have the ability to change their personal password at any time. Furthermore, I.R.T.E.A. urges the users to memorize their password and avoid writing it down in objects or other places that may become accessible to third parties. In case of theft, loss of password and / or unauthorized use of their account, users undertake the obligation - for their own security - to change their password immediately and at the same time to inform I.R.T.E.A. Finally, users of the CEREBRUM Digital System are advised to be especially careful and to always "logout" from their account at the end of the navigation, to avoid unauthorized access to their account by third parties.
  • I.R.T.E.A. is not responsible in case of temporary malfunction, interruption of operation or failure of the hardware or software it uses and is not responsible for network operation problems that may occur due to third parties and make the CEREBRUM Digital System not available temporarily or for a longer period of time.
  • I.R.T.E.A. holds the right to alter the Terms of Use without any type of prior notification to the users of the CEREBRUM Digital System’s services. For the services of CEREBRUM Digital System, more terms or requirements may apply, which will be stated along with the relevant services, and they will be an integral part of the present in case any user wishes to use these services. The users should visit the Terms of Use on a regular basis and read them carefully for any type of changes. The continuation  of use of the platform’s services implies the unconditional acceptance of the terms of use. Otherwise, the user is obliged to stop using the services.
  • I.R.T.E.A. has the right, in the context of improving its services, to add or remove elements or functions or to suspend or terminate a service altogether.
  • In no case does he use of the services of the CEREBRUM Digital System give the user ownership of any intellectual property rights in relation to the services or the content to which he accesses. The entirety of the content of the CEREBRUM Digital System, including, texts, news, graphs, pictures, depictions, offered services and in general any type of record, pose intellectual property of I.R.T.E.A. and is governed by national and international intellectual property provisions.
  • It is explicitly forbidden to reproduce, republish, copy, sell, transmit, distribute , publish, translate, alter by any means, partly or summarily any text or document that consists part of the CEREBRUM Digital System without the explicit prior written consent from I.R.T.E.A. Exceptionally, the individual storage and copying of parts of the content on a simple personal computer is allowed for strictly personal use, without the intention of commercial or other exploitation and always under the condition of indicating its source, without this meaning in any way granting copyright property.
  • The user acknowledges and accepts that partly or totally republishing or reproducing or publishing the content or any type of material provided solely for them to better understand the content they are educated or trained upon in the CEREBRUM Digital System to third parties is explicitly forbidden. Violation of this term will be binding on the user as well as I.R.T.E.A. for the recourse of the second to any provided legal remedy against the first. It is expressly acknowledged here that in case any lawsuit, claim, administrative or judicial proceeding from any form of infringement by the user is brought against I.R.T.E.A., the user assumes the responsibilities, on the one hand, to intervene in the relevant procedure and, on the other hand, to compensate the I.R.T.E.A. in case they are obliged to pay compensation or other expenses.
  • I.R.T.E.A. is not responsible in any way for the content / services of other websites, whose hyperlinks or advertisements are posted on the website, does not guarantee their availability and is not responsible for any damage caused by their use, as the user accesses them at his own risk. Problems that may arise when using other websites to which the website refers refer exclusively to the sphere of responsibility of the respective websites, to which the user must address.
  • These Terms of Use are governed by the provisions of Greek Law, the Directives and Regulations of European Law and the relevant International provisions and are interpreted on the basis of the rules of good faith, transactional ethics, and the economic and social purpose of the law. If a provision is deemed contrary to law and therefore invalid or void, it automatically ceases to be valid, without in any case affecting the validity of the other terms. The competent Courts for any disputes arising on the occasion of this contract are the Courts of Athens.

WITH THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE PRESENT TERMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ABOVE, THE USERS ARE EXPLICITLY AND UNDOUBTLY STATE THAT THEY ARE OF LEGAL AGE WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO BE COMMITTED TO THE PRESENT TERMS OF USE, THEY HAVE OTHERWISE RECEIVED THE RELEVANT LICENSE OF THE OF CEREBRUM DIGITAL SYSTEM BY THE INSTITUTE OF RESEARCH & TRAINING ON EUROPEAN AFFAIRS – I.R.T.E.A.
